How many mobile numbers can receive a SMS text alert if there is a leak?

Up to 4 mobile numbers can receive a SMS alert if a leak is detected in your property.

I’m getting a text every day from the auto-dialler – what is it?

In default programming the GSM Auto-dialler will send a Daily Status Report to confirm that the unit is connected to the mains, that it is receiving a mobile signal and to confirm that the system is armed. This text will read (as an example):

AC Power is ON (The GSM Hub is plugged in and ON)
GSM Value is 19 (The GSM Hub has a mobile signal value 19)
Armed(The GSM Hub is Armed and ready)
IMEI: 3512xxxxxxxxxxxx(This is the mobile ID number of the SIM card installed)

To turn OFF Daily Status Reports text the following number to the mobile number of your auto-dialler:

1234T00#

Please note that the letter “T” must be sent as a capital (uppercase) T.

How do I stop Daily Status Reports?

To turn OFF Daily Status Reports text the following number to the mobile number of your auto-dialler:

1234T00#

Please note that the letter “T” must be sent as a capital (uppercase) T.

I used to get Daily Status Reports but they have stopped?

Occasionally, the GSM dialler that communicates over the mobile phone network can drop the phone signal if the signal in your area is not very strong, and the SMS text alert function is disabled until the equipment is rebooted. If the auto-dialler loses the mobile phone signal it will stop sending Daily Status Reports and will emit an audible alarm for a period after the signal is lost.

In this instance you will need to do a soft reset.

The steps are as follows:

1. If wall mounted, lift off the retaining screws or pull away from the Velcro strips. Unscrew the retaining screw on the bottom panel on the rear of the unit.

2. Locate On/Off switch on PCB (small brown slider switch just below red DIP switch block) and turn Off by sliding the switch to the right. Wait 30 seconds then turn back On.

When you turn On, the initializing sequence is as follows:

a) All the lights on the front of the panel will flash once.
b) Any programmed Zone LEDs will flash once.
c) The GSM LED will light. Whilst it is acquiring a signal, it will continuously rapid flash, when it acquires a signal it will change to a short flash. If it does not acquire a signal after approx. 10 minutes it will alarm.

If it does not acquire a signal, please move to a different location within the property and repeat steps 1 & 2 above.

3. Replace the bottom panel.

Can I receive an email alert if there is a leak instead of/as well as a SMS alert?

The Auto-dialler doesn’t have the ability to send an email alert, however Leaksafe offer a subscription service that allows up to 5 addresses to receive an email alert instead of or as well as a SMS alert. Contact Leaksafe on 0344 848 0488 for further information on this service.

How do I add a mobile number for SMS alerts?

Each mobile number that currently receives a SMS alert is programmed against a position number 1 – 4. If you currently have only one number programmed and you wish to add a second you would text the following to the mobile number of your auto-dialler:

Example 1, of programing a UK Telephone number 07790876543, as the second text number:

12342A2#1#+447790876543#

Where:

  • 1234 = Password (4 digits).
  • Text Telephone Order (1 – 4 in order).
  • Function Control: A (must be capital).
  • Telephone Function 1 = input 2 #
  • Telephone Function 2 = input 1 #
  • Telephone Number (please prefix this number with the Country Code in the format of the following example (UK = +44), remove the first 0 to the telephone number.
  • #

You will receive a SMS back from the auto-dialler confirming the command has been accepted, and listing all the numbers currently programmed to receive SMS alerts.

Example 2, of programing a UK Telephone number 07790876543, as the third text number:

12343A2#1#+447790876543#

How do I change a mobile number on the auto-dialler?

You can change a stored mobile number on the auto-dialler by over-writing the existing stored number.

Example 1, of over-writing the first stored number:

12341A2#1#+447790876543#

How do I delete a mobile number for SMS alerts?

Example: To delete the number stored as the fourth number on the auto-dialler text the following number to the mobile number of your auto-dialler:

12344A2#1#00#

Where:

  • 1234 = Password (4 digits).
  • Text Telephone Order (1 – 4 in order).
  • Function Control: A (must be capital).
  • Telephone Function 1 = input 2 #
  • Telephone Function 2 = input 1 #
  • 00 (numerical) = delete code
  • #

You will receive a SMS back from the auto-dialler confirming the command has been accepted, and listing all the numbers currently programmed to receive SMS alerts.

What does the STATUS LED mean?

The STATUS LED lets you know if the auto-dialler is armed or not i.e., that it will send a SMS alert if a leak is detected by the Leaksafe Water Valve Control.

STATUS LED is lit = Armed

Why is the GSM LED flashing?

The GSM LED should always be flashing.

When the system is first turned on the GSM LED will rapid flash until a mobile signal is obtained, at which point it slows but continues to flash.

What do the ZONE LEDs signify?

When an alarm is raised, a ZONE LED on the Auto-dialler will illuminate.

Many Leaksafe systems that have GSM auto-dialler connected will use the dialler simply to notify that a leak has been detected, but the dialler will not identify where that leak is located in the property. In this instance only the ZONE 1 LED will illuminate.

If your GSM system has been programmed into separate zones and an alarm is raised in one of the zones the corresponding ZONE LED will illuminate. Up to 16 zones can be programmed.

How do I reset the GSM system after a Leak Alarm and clear a ZONE LED?

To reset the GSM system you must Disarm the system, then Re-arm it to re-instate the system.

1. DISARM the system. Send a text to the dialer’s mobile number as follows: 1234BB (NB. “BB” must be capital letters)

(You will receive an acknowledgement text back from the GSM Hub to confirm it is disarmed)

2. Then ARM the system. Send a text as follows: 1234AA (NB. “AA” must be capital letters)

(You will receive an acknowledgement text back from the GSM Hub to confirm it is armed)

I haven’t got a leak alarm on my Leaksafe Water Valve Control and my water is on but the auto-dialler is beeping?

Occasionally, the GSM dialer that communicates over the mobile phone network can drop the phone signal if the signal in your area is not very strong, and the SMS text alert function is disabled until the equipment is rebooted. If the auto-dialler loses the mobile phone signal it will stop sending Daily Status Reports and will emit an audible alarm for a period after the signal is lost.

If it does not acquire a signal, please move to a different location within the property and repeat steps 1 & 2 above.

3. Replace the bottom panel.
